One well known type of  indoor tanning lotion, that is gaining in popularity is Hemp tanning lotion. More and more tanning lotions are using  hemp seed oil as one of their main ingredients. It is normal to wonder if hemp lotions actually have any real benefit or if they are just a fad. The answer is hemp oil is a very important ingredient for tanning lotions, maybe one of the most  important.

Hemp seed oil is a very important factor in indoor tanning lotion because it is a type of humectant. A humectant is a type of non-oily substance that attracts moisture from the air and holds in water or moisture. In other words it, when applied to the skin, will draw moisture from the air and hydrate the skin. The fact that hemp oil hydrates the skin is fantastic because the tanning beds ultra violet  lights are known to be very dehydrating on the skin.

Also, hemp lotions have a high concentration of essential fatty acids which are known to increase absorption of moisture in the skins lipid layers. This will reduce the normal damage caused by tanning, such as your skin drying out.   Which is also why I cannot stress enough that it is very important to use a good moisturizer before and especially after tanning. You can even find an after tan moisturizer with some sort of hemp in it, which will double the benefit effects.

Not only does tanning lotions made with hemp oil, hydrate the skin and lock in the moisture, it also can amplify the tan,  making your tan look darker and more natural. This is because the natural oils of hemp can cause an intensification of the UV rays that penetrate your skin. Also, tanning lotions with hemp have a lot more essential nutrients not found in regular lotions, which will help keep the skin healthy and aid in its overall development.

Overall any type of indoor tanning lotion containing hemp seed oil is going to be a great choice. It helps to give you that deep, dark, beautiful tan.
