Buying tanning lotion can be an overwhelming project for someone who has never done it before. There are different tanning lotions for different types of light. There are different options for different skin tones. There are different brands of tanning lotion. And that doesn’t even get into issues like additional moisturizers, bronzers and vitamins that you might not know anything about. Don’t worry; after this crash course in buying tanning lotion, you’ll know what you need to feel confident about buying tanning lotion.

First of all, realize that there are three basic types of tanning lotion. Outdoor tanning lotion is for going into the natural sun and may be more of a sunscreen than a tan enhancer, depending on the details of the product. Next, you should know about some of the basic ingredients to look for when buying tanning lotions. When looking at sunless tanning lotions, you’ll find that the main ingredient is DHA. The more of this that there is in the lotion, the darker the tan will likely turn out. DHA may also be an ingredient in indoor tanning lotions. In this case, it’s a lesser amount used as a bronzer to jumpstart the tan. You’ll want to look for tanning lotions that contain Vitamin A and Vitamin E; these are anti-aging vitamins that help keep your skin moisturized and looking fresh even when it’s exposed to rays. You’ll also want to look for indoor tanning lotions which contain tyrosine, a product that helps to keep your pores clean.

Now you know what types of tanning lotions there are and what ingredients to be keeping an eye out for. But what about the differences in your skin type from those of other people? That also affects the products that you will be buying. Your tanning lotions should indicate on their packaging what skin types they are good for. This means you just need to know your tanning skin type. There are 5 different skin types which range from very pale skin that never tans and always burns to very dark skin that never burns and always tans. Work with a salon professional to determine your specific skin type so you can choose tanning lotions that are right for you.

Speaking of tanning salons, that’s one place that you might go when you are ready to begin buying tanning lotions. They are staffed with professionals who are able to assist you in finding the right products based on your specific tanning needs. Stores that sell beauty products, day spas and online stores are all places where people buy tanning lotions.

I absolutely love, love, love after tan moisturizers! I wasn’t always like that though, I used to think that tan extenders and things like that, really didn’t make a difference. It was just recently that my view of all those moisturizing products has changed.

My favorite, I have to say is probably a brand called “Hempz”. Oh, do I love that stuff. I’m starting to think I’m getting addicted to it. I use it before tanning, after tanning, and everywhere in between.

Even for people who don’t go tanning, I suggest you try some of this stuff. I don’t think that there is a woman that I know who doesn’t use some kind of lotion or moisturizer. This is the ultimate moisturizer. We all know that the key to a great tan is keeping your skin extra moisturized. If your skin is dry and flaky it is impossible to get a nice, deep tan.

So, my point is that these after tan moisturizers are called that for a reason. They are extra moisturizing to help with all of the stress a tanning bed or UV light can put on our skin. If you don’t tan they will still help to make your skin soft.

I like these lotions for a few different, but very particular reasons, that I feel are important enough to share with who ever reads this. Here they go~

#1 They smell so freaken good. I’m serious, every single tan extending lotion I have ever used has always smelled awesome. It’s like no other.

#2 You can get them with just a touch of sunless tanner or shimmer, if you will. Don’t be mistaken though, this is not how it extends your tan. No, no, no this is just an extra added bonus if you choose an after tan moisturizer with this in it but you don’t have to.

#3.A lot of after tan moisturizers have natural products in them, such as hemp, aloe and green tea extracts just to name a few. Also, they are made to help fight the aging process and help firm the skin.

#4 To maximize, and make your tan last longer. I also love the soothing feeling it has on your skin after you come out of the tanning bed.

#5 I also hear that these are great for spray tans as well. They help your spray tan go on more evenly and help it last longer!

Like I said, you have to moisturize your skin anyway and let me tell you, I don’t think I will ever use a regular creme or lotion ever again.

Tingle tanning lotions  work by increasing the circulation to the outer layers of your skin. This circulation increases the oxygen available to the skin, therefore tanning you faster. The side effects include a reddening effect, a “tingling” sesation possibly even “burning” sensation, and sometimes blotchy spots. This all goes away in a few hours. But it works wonderfully, especially if you are having trouble getting darker. You should not use a tingler if you are a beginner tanner. You should have a good base tan and be up to 20 mins in the tanning bed before using a tingle lotion.

I do not recommend putting tingle lotions on your face and you also have to be careful because you can transfer the burning sensation to other people very easily just through touch. Children and babies need to be especially careful around, always wash your hands and arms really good before touching any babies or kids.

**I have sensitive skin and don’t react that well to a tingle tanning lotion. Here is my secret, I use a bronzer all over and then just apply a tingler to my hard to tan areas, like my arms and legs. This way I don’t have to deal with the burning feeling so much but I still get the great benefits that tingle tanning lotions provide.

Super cheap indoor tanning lotion is great but you also need a super cheap tanning lotion that is good quality and going to produce super dark results as well as being a bargain. The absolute best quality and cheapest tanning lotion to buy, in my opinion, is Millenium tanning products. They are awesome tanning lotions that produce super dark results and they are the cheapest tanning lotions that are good quality that you can find. The best place to find cheap tanning lotion is on ebay or Amazon.com.
